FUSUMA A Thousand Years of History
The original form of Fusuma appeared about 1,000 years ago (in the Heian period). During this long time of 1,000 years, the nature of the "Japanese room" has undergone many interesting changes. Nowadays, the cultural and artistic value of Fusuma is recognized again, and Fusuma is attracting attention from all over the world as a "valuable thing".
We can deliver them as a unit of Frame and Fusuma.
Fusuma sliding doors are supported by grooves dug in the top and bottom of the frame to open and close (slide), so a frame is always required as a set with fusuma. Although there are many skilled carpenters in the world, it is necessary to know the fittings called Fusuma well in order to make the frame for Fusuma, and we imagine that it will be very difficult. Therefore, we thought that if we could send the frame and Fusuma as a set (unit), it would be very smooth at the site. Harima Industrial is the only manufacturer that can manufacture and sell frames and sliding doors as a unit.
